Prieto Names Moriarty to New Jersey Legislative Select Committee on Investigation

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto on Friday announced he has appointed Assemblyman Paul Moriarty to the vacant seat on the New Jersey Legislative Select Committee on Investigation.
Moriarty (D-Gloucester/Camden) worked as an investigative journalist with KYW-CBS 3 in Philadelphia from 1987 to 2004. He is serving his fifth term in the Assembly.
“Assemblyman Moriarty’s background, experience, temperament and desire for good and honest government makes him a great fit for this committee,” said Prieto (D-Hudson/Bergen). “The committee’s important work will benefit greatly from his presence.”
“I look forward to helping get answers about the abuse of government power and threat to public safety that surrounded these lane closings,” Moriarty said. “The committee has so far made great progress shedding light on what happened here, but more work remains. I thank the Speaker for this appointment and look forward to the results of our work.”
