Prieto Statement on Comcast’s Continuing YES Network Blackout in NJ

(TRENTON) — Following Comcast’s refusal to come to the negotiating table over the YES Network blackout, Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson) released the following statement:

“On April 25, I urged Comcast to end its blackout of the YES Network, which has denied more than 600,000 Comcast customers in New Jersey the opportunity to watch the Yankees on TV this baseball season. I also extended an offer to mediate the dispute and invited Comcast CEO Brian Roberts and YES CEO Tracy Dolgin to come to meet with me to try to resolve the matter. YES has agreed to participate, but much to my disappointment, Comcast has yet to come to the table, which raises serious concerns about Comcast’s treatment of its New Jersey customers. I will be researching what legislative solutions may be available to force Comcast to be responsive and end this dispute.”
