Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) issued the following statement Friday concerning the budget impasse:
“We have put forth a responsible budget that is balanced and fair to New Jersey taxpayers.
“Our budget contains 95 percent of what the governor has asked for, and we have offered numerous reasonable compromises including a millionaire’s tax. For these reasons, we believe the governor’s decision to reject our compromise is misguided. We urge him to reconsider for the good of the state.”
