Sandy Relief Oversight, Jessica Lunsford Act & Improved School Security Top Monday Assembly Hearings

(TRENTON) – Bills to improve Sandy relief oversight, enact the Jessica Lunsford and improve school security highlight Monday’s Assembly committee hearings.

Highlights include
· A2293 (Oliver/Watson Coleman/Quijano) – Requires oversight reporting on Hurricane Sandy recovery funds. 2 p.m. State and Local Government.
· A892 (Green) – Enacts the “Jessica Lunsford Act;” imposes mandatory term of imprisonment; provides for negotiated reduction of mandatory term under certain circumstances. 10 a.m. Judiciary.
· A373 (Caputo/Diegnan/Spencer/Tucker/Quijano/Vainieri Huttle) – Requires school buildings to be equipped with emergency light and panic alarm linked to local law enforcement. 10 a.m. Education.
· The Assembly Budget Committee will meet at 1 p.m. and has invited state Treasurer Andrew P. Sidamon-Eristoff and Legislative Budget and Finance Officer David J. Rosen to discuss the State of New Jersey Debt Report for Fiscal Year 2013.
· A304 (Caride) – Requires schools to maintain supply of epinephrine and permit administration of epinephrine to any student having anaphylactic reaction. 10 a.m. Education.
· A1676 (Johnson) – Provides that crime victims do not have to pay fees to obtain government records and that requests for records are not public information. 10 a.m. Judiciary.
· A1947 (Conaway/Sumter/Wilson) – Requires county board of elections provide notice to voters by mail and on county’s Internet site when change in polling place location for any election district occurs within 60 days of any election. 10 a.m. Judiciary.
· A2025 (Greenwald/Moriarty/Chivukula) – Grants immunity from liability for certain professional services rendered during emergencies under certain circumstances. 10 a.m. Judiciary.
· A2682 (Lampitt) – Extends health benefits coverage of a newborn infant. 10 a.m. Women and Children.
· A945 (Singleton/Watson Coleman/Lampitt/Schaer/Wimberly) – Establishes New Jersey Council on Responsible Fatherhood and Responsible Fatherhood Fund. 10 a.m. Women and Children.
· A1101 (Vainieri Huttle) – “Let Them Be Little Act,” provides for screening newborn infants for Hunter syndrome. 10 a.m. Women and Children.
· A361 (Caputo/Chivukula) – Requires DHSS to establish carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide air quality standards and certification requirements for ice arenas. 2 p.m. Environment and Solid Waste.
· A1726 (Eustace/Lagana) – Amends “Flood Hazard Area Control Act” to require DEP to take certain actions concerning delineations of flood hazard areas and floodways. 2 p.m. Environment and Solid Waste.
· A1928 (Conaway/Singleton/Riley) – Requires DEP to conduct vibration analysis along routes for disposal of dredged material from Delaware River. 2 p.m. Environment and Solid Waste.
· A2303 (DeAngelo) – Requires certain State departments, divisions, commissions, and authorities to consider use of green or blue roof in construction of certain new State buildings, facilities, and structures. 2 p.m. Environment and Solid Waste.

· A1098 (Vainieri Huttle/Eustace) – Requires follow-up studies of developmental center residents transitioning to the community. 1 p.m. Human Services.
· A2685 (Gusciora) – Permits court to order involuntary outpatient treatment in any county; concerns patient compliance with taking medication. 1 p.m. Human Services.
