(TRENTON) — Assemblyman Homeland Security and State Preparedness Chairman Fred Scalera on Thursday released the following statement after his committee received a presentation from the NJ 2-1-1 program and the services it offers:
“Today’s presentation showed why NJ 2-1-1 is a respected and valuable service for New Jerseyans who need help to address urgent needs or everyday concerns.
“Whether it be food or affordable housing, help combating domestic violence or homelessness, or a need for baby items or grief counseling, this group is there to help New Jerseyans at no cost and at anytime.
“And those are just a few of the many services available.
“The group’s efforts with Haitian earthquake relief are especially impressive.
“I thank the United Ways of New Jersey for operating this service and urge New Jerseyans in need to call 2-1-1 or visit www.nj211.org.”
