SCHAER: ‘GOVERNOR’S BUDGET CUTS VITAL SERVICES’

Assemblyman Gary Schaer had the following published Thursday in the the Herald News :

“When both houses of the Legislature passed the new $29.4 billion state budget June 28 — which Governor Christie signed the next day — I was not one of those to vote in favor of it. It is not that I disagree with the budget’s core principle of lower spending, but because I strongly disagree with its priorities.

“No one will argue against the simple fact that taxes in New Jersey are too high and efforts to cut spending and make New Jersey more affordable are long overdue. Unfortunately, while the governor claims there are no new taxes in this budget, the reality is very different…”
