Assembly Budget Committee Chair Gary S. Schaer (D-Bergen/Passaic) issued the following statement Monday:
“The Assembly Budget Committee worked tirelessly to produce a responsible budget that will expand opportunity and increase affordability for New Jerseyans. I am pleased to support that budget. I am more pleased that we now can put an end to this government shutdown.
“Under the leadership of Speaker Prieto, the legislature is now able to receive and vote on a Horizon bill that will protect 3.8 million policyholders without compromising the Democratic priorities outlined in the budget.
“Ultimately, this is a deal that’s good for all New Jersey residents, for whom we have a duty to fight.”
