Schaer Statement on Today’s Budget Vote

(TRENTON) – Assembly Budget Chairman Gary Schaer (D-Bergen/Passaic) issued the following statement on today’s budget vote:

“The people of New Jersey put their faith on us to deliver a budget that is responsible. I believe we delivered. They deserve better than a failure to act. No one wants a repeat of 2006. A government shutdown is disruptive, and jeopardizes the livelihoods of thousands of New Jerseyans who will find themselves out of work through no fault of their own. No one wants this. This budget bill addresses the needs of our working class families. Let’s put the best interest of our residents ahead of politics, and support the bill.”
