Assemblyman Troy Singleton – one of the prime sponsors of the health insurance exchange component of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act – praised the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision today to uphold the landmark legislation:
“The Supreme Court’s decision today will, once and for all, allow us to realize a goal that has eluded Presidents for nearly a century.
“Providing access to quality, affordable health care for every American should be something that unites, rather than divides, us all.
“Now that the future of this landmark legislation has been cemented, it’s time for everyone to work together to ensure that this law is implemented efficiently and in a manner that takes into account the diverse needs of a state like New Jersey.
“With this finality in hand, I hope the Governor will now be willing to work with us on implementing the health insurance exchange component to truly make health care affordable to everyone,” said Singleton (D-Burlington).
