Singleton to Kick Off Week of Thanksgiving Community Service Activities, Distributing Free Turkeys & Hot Meals

Assemblyman Troy Singleton will kick off the first of three Thanksgiving community service activities today, joining with other local elected officials to distribute free turkeys and serve up hot meals to residents throughout the 7th legislative district.

“Thanksgiving is a time to pause and be thankful for all we have while lending a helping hand to look out for one another, a spirit we should try and carry with us all throughout the year,” said Singleton (D-Burlington). “With the economy still struggling, I know it’s rough for a lot of families to put together a holiday meal for their loved ones. It’s with that in mind, that I encourage everyone to come out to one of these events over the next week.”

Singleton will be participating in the following activities over the next week as Thanksgiving approaches:

  • Friday, November 21, 12pm at the Willingboro Senior Center, 429 JFK Way, Willingboro. Along with Willingboro Councilmen Nat Anderson and Darvis Holley, Singleton will be distributing free turkeys to the community.
  • Tuesday, November 25, 10am at the Burlington senior housing complex located at 1508 Burlington-Mt. Holly Road, Burlington. In partnership with Assemblyman Herb Conaway and the Salvation Army, Singleton will again be distributing free turkeys.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 4 pm at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 145 West Broad Street, Burlington. Singleton will be making his monthly visit to help out with the church’s Ladle of Love program in serving their pre-Thanksgiving meal.
