Singleton to Serve “Ladles of Love” at St. Mary’s in Burlington on Thanksgiving Eve

Assemblyman Troy Singleton (D-Burlington) will be picking up a ladle, a Ladle of Love that is, to help pitch in and serve food to those in need at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church this Thanksgiving Eve.

Singleton will be taking part in the church’s Ladle of Love program, a weekly outreach supper that began in 2003 and currently serves roughly 160 meals each week. The program is self-sustaining and run by volunteers who take turns cooking and serving meals.

Singleton will be lending a helping hand on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 3:30 – 5:30 pm at the parish, located at 145 West Broad Street in Burlington City.

Ladle of Love is supported through an annual fundraiser, Walk Against Hunger in Philadelphia, and through generous donations from individuals and organizations throughout the year, including Singleton who recently donated.

“Making sure programs like this are able to operate, not just at the holidays, but all throughout the year is crucial,” said Singleton. “Whether it’s through time or money, everyone has the ability to pitch in and help out. It’s a worthwhile cause that I look forward to continuing to support in the future.”
