Speaker Coughlin: Let the Gaming Begin

Sports Gaming Bill Signed into Law by Gov. Murphy

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) released the following statement Monday after Gov. Murphy signed the sports betting bill into law:

“This has been a years-long battle, but we finally have legalized sports gaming in New Jersey.

“I am excited for Atlantic City, our racetracks and the state as whole. This will help make our casinos and racetracks more attractive gaming destinations, provide much needed revenue to support the state budget, provide additional funding for valuable social programs and cut down on illegal sport gaming activity.

“I commend Gov. Murphy for taking action on this important piece of legislation.”

“Now we can finally start reaping the benefits.”
