(TRENTON) — Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin has named Assemblyman Robert J. Karabinchak as chair of the Assembly State and Local Government Committee in the new legislative session.
The Assembly State and Local Government Committee concentrates on shaping policies and legislation with a direct impact on state government. Additionally, it addresses legislation related to ethics, pensions, election matters, and public employees.
“Chairman Karabinchak brings a valuable perspective as a former Councilman and longtime legislator,” said Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex). “He will work with all stakeholders to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government. As a home rule state, this committee carries additional importance and weight with our hundreds of mayors, councilpersons, and county commissioners.”
“This committee is dedicated to tackling vital issues impacting public employees and state government, and I plan to help develop policies and legislation that strengthen the functioning of these institutions,” said Assemblyman Karabinchak (D-Middlesex). “Together, the committee members will work towards fostering transparent, efficient, and accountable governance for the benefit of our community”
Karabinchak has been a member of the General Assembly since 2016.
