(TRENTON) — Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin has named Assemblyman Roy Freiman as chair of the Assembly Financial Institutions Committee in the new legislative session.
The Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee is responsible for issues such as banking, finance, trusts and estates, as well as insurance and tort reform.
“Chairman Freiman brings invaluable business experience and legislative expertise to this new role,” said Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex). “I have full confidence in his ability to lead this incredibly important committee and look out for the needs of our state’s economy and consumers to get things done with fairness and vision.”

Freiman also serves as Deputy Majority Leader and vice chair of the Assembly Oversight, Reform and Federal Relations Committee. He has been a member of the General Assembly since 2018.
