(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) released the following statement Sunday on the passing of James Failace, former Carteret Mayor:
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mayor James Failace, a dedicated public servant, loving family man and a close personal friend. I had the distinct privilege of working with Jim serving as his Borough attorney during his tenure as Mayor.
“Jim’s tireless commitment to the residents of Carteret, first as a Councilman and later Mayor was inspiring.
“I admired Jim’s sacrifices for his country. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proud Vietnam War veteran.
“Jim was a man of true class, dignity and honor. I’m better for having him as my friend.
“I offer my sincerest condolences to Jim’s family and friends. My prayers are with you. Rest in Peace Mayor Jim Failace. You will be missed by many.”
