Speaker Coughlin on Revised State Policies and Procedures for Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement today on the revised state policies and procedures for the handling of allegations of sexual misconduct against state employees and applicants for employment:

“The revised policies announced yesterday will be instrumental in the handling of allegations of sexual misconduct and discrimination in the future.

“Last year, the Assembly took swift action, creating a new anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policy. The legislation, conducted in a bi-partisan manner, underscores the commitment to providing its members, employees and third parties with a work environment free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.

“It is important that we, the leaders of this state, ensure employees feel safe in the workplace and know actions of harassment will not be condoned.”
