(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) released the following statement on the passing of former Assemblyman Joseph Patero:
“Assemblyman Patero will be remembered as a man who was always ready to answer the call to serve. As a U.S. Army veteran, a volunteer firefighter, local elected official and chairman of the Assembly Labor Committee, Assemblyman Patero dedicated his life to his community and his country. He leaves behind a lasting legacy in the Assembly, where he championed family leave legislation and advocated for workplace safety. His service will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to the Patero family at this difficult time.”
