Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement in response to the unacceptable and abhorrent comments made about Assemblyman Gary Schaer (D- Bergen, Passaic):
“I read and listened to, with great dismay, the very offensive comments about Assemblyman Gary Schaer.
“These remarks are not at all reflective of the Gary Schaer I’ve known and worked with for nearly a decade.
“Assemblyman Schaer has always been an honorable, thoughtful and trusted friend and colleague who is dedicated to civility and serving the public.”
