Speaker Craig J. Coughlin (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement on Sunday commemorating the United States of America’s 245th Independence Day:
“On this Fourth of July we celebrate our nation’s history, our nation’s victory for independence and self-determination of its people, and above all the values for which we, as an American people, stand.
“It’s thanks to the sacrifices of everyone in this State to stay apart over these past pandemic months and because of the nearly five million now vaccinated that once again we get to gather for fireworks and parties this weekend.
“Standing firm in the pledge to always strive for a more perfect union, I wish all New Jersey’s families and friends a safe and fun-filled day of celebration.”
