Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver (D-Essex/Passaic) released the following statement Tuesday on Gov. Chris Christie’s comments in Paterson regarding the proposed Opportunity Scholarship Act:
“As I’ve said before, we welcome the governor to come to the table and discuss a compromise that does not further threaten our public education system. If the governor thinks I’m the only one standing in the way of the bill, then I challenge him to get it through the Senate first.”
