(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver issued the following statement today on the passing of former Assemblyman James Zangari:
“Assemblyman Zangari will be remembered as someone who served his state and his beloved Essex County with passion and dedication.
“Throughout his long career in public service, Assemblyman Zangari was known as someone who stuck to his principles and knew his stuff, but never took himself too seriously.
“He was always ready with a quip or a joke to keep things light when needed, but was also someone who never forgot why he was elected in the first place – to serve the people and improve their lives.
“On behalf of the New Jersey General Assembly, I offer our prayers and thoughts to his family at their time of loss.”
