Speaker Oliver on Sept. 11 Day of Remembrance

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver (D-Essex/Passaic) released the following statement Wednesday in remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:

“Today, many New Jerseyans will attend ceremonies, host vigils and volunteer in commemoration of the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

“We will never forget 9/11. We will never forget the family, friends, co-workers and neighbors we lost on that day.

“Let us also not forget today the servicewomen and men who place their lives on the line daily to preserve democracy and freedom around the world. They deserve our gratitude and support.

“On behalf of the New Jersey General Assembly, I extend prayers for continued healing to the families of 9/11 and to every citizen.”
