(TRENTON) — Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver released the following statement Friday on the passing of former Assemblyman Joseph Azzolina:
“Joe Azzolina was a rare blend of legislator: a principled statesman with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
“His commitment to service, whether on the floor of the Assembly or Senate or on the floor of one of his many Food Circus Foodtowns was something that touched everyone who knew him. Joe was not someone to leave a job unfinished, as evidenced by his long, successful life.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. He will be missed.”
