(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver (D-Essex/Passaic) released the following statement on the decision by Assemblyman Fred Scalera (D-Essex/Bergen/Passaic) to leave the Assembly:
“No one in the New Jersey General Assembly knew more about public safety and homeland security than Assemblyman Scalera. His input was always valued, and his expertise always helpful.
“Thanks to Assemblyman Scalera, we are a safer state.
“His sound advice and strong leadership will be missed, but on behalf of the General Assembly, I wish Assemblyman Scalera well as he moves to the next chapter in a life that’s been devoted to public service.”
