Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver (D-Essex/Passaic) issued the following statement Sunday evening on the tragic passing of State Trooper Marc Castellano:
“I was deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing today of Trooper Marc Castellano. His dedication to protecting our safety will never be forgotten. His loss is a yet another reminder of the constant danger our law enforcement officers bravely put themselves in front of each and every day. We must always be grateful for that service.
“On behalf of the New Jersey General Assembly, I thank Trooper Castellano for his courageous service and offer my prayers and condolences to his family at this most difficult time.”
