Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver (D-Essex/Passaic) released the following statement Friday on the federal court ruling regarding New Jersey’s effort to implement sports gaming:
“I am extremely disappointed by this decision that continues to put New Jersey, its gaming industry and the jobs it creates at an unfair disadvantage.
“The Legislature, the executive branch and the majority of the people of New Jersey want legal and well-regulated sports gaming.
“The current law is unreasonable, and we will continue to work cooperatively to try to get this law changed for the benefit of taxpayers, jobs, economic development and a modern gaming industry.”
