(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver (D-Essex/Passaic) released the following statement on Wednesday:
“I offer my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the individual who perished today in the horrible accident on the New Jersey Turnpike. Incidents like this are a sober reminder of the fragileness of life and how we should live every day to its fullest.
“I’d also like to express my gratitude to the emergency responders who did everything they could to save this individual and mitigate as much as possible the impact of the crash. Their efforts were a reminder of how our police, firefighters and emergency medical teams labor tirelessly each and every day on our behalf.
“Say a prayer tonight not only for the individual lost in the accident, but for the continued safety of our heroic emergency responders.”
