SPEAKER OLIVER: ‘THIS REMAINS A COMPASSIONATE PLAN’

Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver had the following published on State House Steps:

“Nothing is more important to New Jersey Democrats than protecting our most vulnerable senior and disabled citizens who are struggling each and every day to pay their property taxes and keep their homes. But let’s be clear – that is not just a partisan mantra.

“That has been a core value that New Jerseyans have held dear and shared together, no matter their political point of view. Well, I should say that it was a shared value at least until recently, when Gov. Christie vetoed Democratic legislation designed to ensure continued property tax relief for more than 600,000 senior and disabled New Jerseyans…”
