SPECIAL ASSEMBLY PANEL TO CONSIDER WAYS TO IMPROVE NEW JERSEY ECONOMY & CREATE JOBS

(TRENTON) – A special Assembly panel will meet Thursday to consider ways to improve New Jersey’s economy and create jobs.
The hearing is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 in Committee Room 11, 4th Floor, State House Annex in Trenton.
It’s expected to be streamed live at: http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/media/live_audio.asp.

Assembly members who serve on the Assembly Budget, Commerce and Economic Development, Financial Institutions and Insurance, Labor, Telecommunications and Utilities and Transportation committees will participate.
The panel expects to hear testimony from administration officials involved in economic development, business leaders and the public.
“Economic development and recovering from this recession is a complicated issue involving all sectors of government and private industry,” said Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver (D-Essex/Passaic). “Coordination is critical if we’re going to develop a successful economic development plan, and that is our goal with this hearing.”
