Statement from Deputy Speaker John S. Wisniewski on the Medical Repatriation of Perth Amboy Resident Wladyslaw Haniszewski

SAYREVILLE, NJ – Deputy Speaker John S. Wisniewski issued the following statement in response to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/New Brunswick’s medical repatriation of Perth Amboy resident Wladyslaw Haniszewski

“Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s refusal to clearly state the procedures it followed in the medical repatriation of Wladyslaw Haniszewski, a Perth Amboy resident, raises a serious concern about whether his right to due process was violated.”

“As a country that owes much of its strength to its immigrant population, I fear this may be another in a number of recent incidents that have been fueled by a growing intolerance for immigrants among some of our fellow countrymen and denies too many U.S. residents of the basic human dignity to which we all are entitled as human beings.”

“I intend to make inquiries about the legal rights to which Mr. Haniszewski was entitled, whether his rights were violated and what recourse he may have.”
