Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney and Assembly members John J. Burzichelli and Celeste Riley today announced that the 3rd Legislative District will receive over $3.2 million in grants from the state Department of Transportation for various improvement projects.
“Improvements to our infrastructure are critical for our communities not just to provide a safe means of travel, but also to create economic opportunities for the region. These projects are thankfully getting the much needed funding they deserve,” said Sweeney.
“These funds are a much-needed and welcome boost for our area,” said Burzichelli. “Being able to improve our infrastructure and create jobs is a win-win for our residents.”
Given the significant cuts in aid across our state and the extremely harsh winters we’ve been having, this funding will go a long way towards addressing crucial transportation improvements in our district,” said Riley.
