(TRENTON) – Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto released the following joint statement:
“Ensuring public safety and reliability at NJ Transit is a shared goal. After talking today about our respective plans to investigate NJ Transit’s safety, operations and finances, we have agreed that a joint investigation is the most appropriate approach to reaching our shared goals.
“The Senate Legislative Oversight Committee led by Sen. Gordon and the Assembly Judiciary Committee led by Asm. McKeon will work together on this matter, starting with a joint Friday hearing.
“We look forward to positive results for commuters and taxpayers and improved public safety and reliability at this crucial agency.”
