35th Legislative District Announces "Economic Development Roundtable and Key Opportunities Tour"

(PATERSON) – Senator Nellie Pou and Assembly members Shavonda Sumter and Benjie Wimberly will host an event for businesses and firms that will provide an overview of incentives available, suitable turnkey sites and opportunities in the City of Paterson. The “Economic Development Roundtable and Key Opportunities Tour,” will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at the Hamilton Club.

The event will begin with a guided tour of strategic sites and development opportunities. Key officials, current business owners and those who have participated in the NJ Grow Program and other economic development incentives will also be in attendance. Culminating the day’s activities will be a roundtable discussion on strategic economic development opportunities available in Paterson.

“There are many promising areas in Paterson primed for new business and many incentives to encourage businesses to expand and develop here,” Pou (D- Bergen, Passaic). “By shining a light on Paterson’s potential, hopefully, we will introduce businesses to new opportunities for growth.”

“Only by intentionally linking the public sector to the needs of the business community will we successfully foster sustained economic development and reinvestment,” Sumter (D-) said in her letter to businesses. “And only by taking creative and collaborative approaches like this will we successfully create a climate for growth.”

“A critical component of stimulating economic growth is active dialog with those looking to build and expand their business,” Wimberly (D-Bergen, Passaic). “Creating opportunities for the business community to walk the areas, see the potential for themselves and relay our vision for Paterson’s future places the city directly on the path to economic stability and job creation.”

The event begins at 9:30 a.m. The Hamilton Club is located at 32 Church Street in Paterson. For additional information, businesses may contact the 35th Legislative District Office at (973) 925-7061.
