The 4th Legislative Team Celebrate Older Americans Month Hosting a Senior Appreciation Day on Friday, May 10th

(GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP) — Every year since 1963, May has been a month to celebrate and appreciate the vitality and aspiration of older adults and their contributions, commitments, and achievements. The 4th Legislative lawmakers are holding a Senior Appreciation Day in honor of Older Americans Month at the Gloucester Township Library, Friday May 10, 2013 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

While the 4th Legislative District Offices provide services, support, and resources to older adults year-round, the 4th Legislative District Senior Appreciation Day is a great opportunity for the legislators to meet-n-greet with older adults in the community. Members and staff will be at the Gloucester Township Library, 15 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood NJ on Friday May 10th, to meet with older adults one-on-one to discuss New Jersey’s issues that concern them the most as well as providing information on programs from the “Senior Freeze” property tax relief program to resources available in the county and state.

“Older Americans Month is a great way to show special appreciation to our seniors for the commitment they give 365 days a year,” said Senator Madden. “We will continue to provide services and support to our seniors through outreach programs and resources available in our offices.”

“This May, many communities around New Jersey and the Nation will be celebrating Older Americans Month. It is important to recognize our older adults as productive, active and influential members of our community,” said Assemblyman Moriarty.

“In order to forge ahead, we must recognize the importance of our past by acknowledging those who came before us their value and important role they have in our society,” said Assemblywoman Mosquera. “We encourage our older Americans to stop by the Gloucester Township Library on Friday, May 10, 2013 to meet us for a cup of coffee, donuts and good conversation.”

For those who are not able to make it to the Library are always welcome to visit one of our legislative district offices. Senator Madden, Assemblyman Moriarty and Assemblywoman Mosquera represent the 4th Legislative District with offices located at 1379 Chews Landing Road, Laurel Springs and 129 Johnson Road, Suite 1, Turnersville, NJ.
