*** THURSDAY ADVISORY *** ASSEMBLY BUDGET PANEL TO EXAMINE CHRISTIE TRANSPORTATION BORROWING & SPENDING PLANS

(TRENTON) – The Assembly Budget Committee on Thursday will hear from transportation experts and Christie administration officials as it examines the governor’s transportation spending proposal, including the governor’s plan to borrow $4.4 billion without voter approval.
At 10 a.m. the panel will hear from transportation experts. Those expected include AAA New Jersey, the Utility Transportation Contractors Association of New Jersey, the New Jersey Laborer’s Union, the New Jersey Sierra Club, the Tri-State Transportation Campaign and Martin Robbins, director emeritus of the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center at Rutgers.
At 2 p.m. the panel will hear from the state Department of Transportation, NJ Transit and the Motor Vehicle Commission.
Both hearings will in Committee Room 11 of the State House Annex.
