*** THURSDAY ADVISORY *** RYAN TO TAKE OATH AS NEWEST ASSEMBLY MEMBER

Kevin J. Ryan will take the oath of office on Thursday to become the newest member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 36th Legislative District that includes Carlstadt, East Rutherford, Garfield, Lyndhurst, Moonachie, North Arlington, Nutley, Passaic, Rutherford, Wallington, Wood-Ridge.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6, in the Assembly Chambers in the State House in Trenton.

Ryan, 41, resides in Nutley and is a graduate of Essex County College Police Academy. He currently serves as an Undersheriff for the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

Ryan will fill the seat vacated by the retirement of former Assemblyman Frederick Scalera and join Assemblyman Gary Schaer (D-Bergen/Essex/Passaic) in representing the 36th Legislative District in the Assembly.
