Assembly Also to Vote on Legislation Designating the Bog Turtle as State Reptile; Bill Encouraging Hospitals and Homeless Shelters to Share Resources; & a Measure Requiring Domestic Violence Training for Judicial Personnel

Assemblyman Gordon Johnson to be Sworn-in as Speaker Pro Tempore; Assembly members-select P. Christopher Tully, Lisa Swain, and Linda S. Carter will be sworn in as Members of the General Assembly

(TRENTON) – The full Assembly to consider legislation Thursday improving public water service, providing $21 minimum annual energy assistance to qualified families, creating business assistance programs, and banning anyone under the age of 18 from marrying or entering into a civil union.

Also on tap: requiring hospitals and homeless shelters to provide information on services and resources to homeless and military veterans, allowing individuals to remain on eligible list for police and firefighter jobs if unable to complete employment requirements due to certain military service, and a measure that would change procedures for marriage or civil union where a spouse in diagnosed as terminally ill.

Assemblyman Gordon Johnson will be sworn-in as Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore.
Assembly member-select Linda S. Carter will be sworn-in to represent the 22nd Legislative District. Carter was selected to fill the seat formerly held by Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Jerry Green.

Assembly members-select P. Christopher Tully and Lisa Swain will be sworn in to represent the 38th Legislative District.
