Thursday Assembly Session – Health Benefits Coverage for Donated Human Breast Milk, Expanding Veterans’ Civil Service, School Fire Safety, Protecting Drinking Water, Withdrawing from Waterfront Commission & Environmental Protections

The Assembly on Thursday will consider legislation to, among other things, require health benefits coverage for donated human breast milk, expand eligibility for veterans’ civil service preference, ban state investment in companies that avoid Superfund obligations to the state, improve fire safety in school buildings, protect Highlands drinking water, authorize the use of school bus monitoring systems, withdraw from the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor, regulate the prescribing of opioids, require New Jersey to join the U.S. Climate Alliance to uphold the Paris Climate Accord and combat chronic absenteeism and disciplinary suspensions in schools.
