(TRENTON) – An additional school bus requirement, helping colleges fight opioid overdoses, and reducing wrongful convictions by mandating collection and reporting requirements drug evidence testing are also among the measures to be reviewed during Thursday’s Assembly committee meetings.
The following Assembly panels will hold hearings on January 17:
The Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee is set to discuss the rollout of the New Jersey Health Information Network (NJHIN) with invited guests. The NJ Innovation Institute (NJII), an affiliate of NJIT, was awarded federal grant funding to further develop the NJHIN. The main goal of the initiative is to improve interoperability with a focus on enabling health data exchange across health care organizations, health information exchanges (HIEs), and state health databases. It will begin at 10:00 AM in committee room 11 on the 4th floor of the State House Annex.

The Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee has invited testimony regarding the seizure of property utilized in furtherance of unlawful activity and procedures related to asset forfeiture. The committee will begin at 2:00 PM in committee room 13.
