Timberlake on Appointment as Vice-Chair of New Community Development Committee

Assemblywoman Britnee N. Timberlake (D-Essex, Passaic), a seasoned veteran with vast experience in housing and community development has been named Vice-Chair of the Assembly Community Development Committee and will be a member of the Housing Committee as well during the 219th legislative session.

Timberlake released the following statement in response to her committee appointments:

“It is an honor to be selected by the Speaker to serve on both the Community Development and Housing Committees. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both committees including Chair of Community Development, Shavonda Sumter and of Housing, Benjie Wimberly, to continue great work, embody creative solutions in legislation, and deploy proven strategies to improve all communities. Everyone should have access to housing no matter what their income, therefore I will work toward the creation of a better society where all people: working families, the elderly, and young professionals can afford a roof over their head. It will also be a focus to adequately undergird those, providing housing options and other community development with subsidies needed to meet the diverse needs of the residents of our great state.”
