*** TUESDAY ADVISORY *** ASSEMBLY BUDGET PANEL TO EXAMINE CHRISTIE PLAN TO CUT MEDICAID PROGRAM

(TRENTON) – The Assembly Budget Committee on Tuesday will hear from health care experts and Christie administration officials as it examines the governor’s plan to cut Medicaid, a program that helps low-income individuals or families afford health care.
At 10 a.m. the panel will hear from health care experts, including representatives from the hospital, primary care, home health care, health care workers, nursing home and pharmacy industries and nonprofits who care for the disabled.
At 2 p.m. the panel will hear from the state Human Services Commissioner Jennifer Velez and acting Health and Senior Services Commissioner Mary O’Dowd.
Both hearings will in Committee Room 11 of the State House Annex.
