Vainieri Huttle Decries Veto of PANYNJ Reforms

New Jersey Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-Bergen) released the following statement Saturday after Govs. Christie and Cuomo vetoed the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reform legislation she sponsored that unanimously passed the New Jersey and New York Legislatures:

“The governors made the wrong decision. It’s appalling and disappointing that these basic common sense bills were not signed into law, especially considering the serious problems we’ve seen at the Port Authority under these governors.

“Their silence to date and today’s actions clearly demonstrate both governors want to continue the same old scandalous problems at the Port Authority.

“The Legislatures of New Jersey and New York crossed party lines to pass Port Authority reform. The governors crossed party lines to obstruct it.

“I will be working with my partners on both sides of the aisle in both states to continue fighting for binding reform.”
