Vainieri Huttle, Johnson, Eustace & Lagana Join with State and Federal Officials to Advocate for Port Authority Bus Terminal on West Side of Manhattan

Officials Call for Preservation of One-Seat Ride to New York for New Jersey Commuters

Assembly Democrats Valerie Vainieri Huttle, Gordon Johnson, Tim Eustace and Joseph Lagana joined with other state and federal officials Thursday on a bipartisan basis to call for the construction of a new bus terminal in New York that will preserve a one-seat ride to New York for New Jersey’s commuters and create economic growth throughout the bi-state region.

U.S. Senator Bob Menendez and U.S. Senator Cory Booker, both vocal advocates for improving trans-Hudson services for our region, are joined by eight members of the New Jersey House delegation, led by Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., and 10 members of the New Jersey Legislature in sending a letter to Port Authority of New York and New Jersey leadership detailing the need for construction of a new bus terminal on Manhattan’s West Side designed to meet a projected 50 percent increase in ridership demand by 2040.
