VAINIERI HUTTLE ON CHRISTIE BERGEN VISIT: TIME TO ADDRESS PORT AUTHORITY WASTE

(37th LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT) – Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-Bergen) released the following statement Thursday upon on Gov. Chris Christie’s visit to Teaneck:

“Gov. Christie certainly talks the talk, but Bergen County residents are still waiting for him to walk the walk when it comes to reform.
“The governor claims to be interested in reform yet shrugs off the waste and abuse at the Port Authority and its false claim that it would use some of a recent toll hike to pay for the World Trade Center site.
“This is an issue of public trust and accountability that the governor has ignored while allowing a painful toll hike on commuters to go into effect.
“It’s time for the governor to make clear what he’s going to do about the Port Authority.
“The truth about this discrepancy as well as the Port Authority’s true intentions for spending the toll hike money it’s collecting from commuters must come to light before the second phase of the toll hike is allowed to go into effect.”
