Vainieri Huttle: Training + Education = Less Bullying

Lead Sponsor of Anti-Bulling Bill of Rights Welcomes News of Law’s Effectiveness in Decreasing Bullying Incidents

Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle welcomed news that the state’s anti-bullying law has produced marked results throughout New Jersey schools after the latest report from the State Department of Education showed a 16 percent decrease in reported bullying incidents from last year.

Vainieri Huttle (D-Bergen) was the lead sponsor of the landmark Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights that the state enacted in 2011.

“This is great news for our state and for the countless students who have suffered at the hands of bullies in the past.

“It’s clear that education and training are paying off. I want to thank all the teachers, staff and students who have embraced this new program.

“We’ve seen far too many heartbreaking incidents of bullying in recent years, but if we continue to embrace this cultural change in our schools, I’m confident we’ll see these incidents continue to drop each year,” said Vainieri Huttle.
