(TRENTON) – Assembly members Anthony Verrelli and Verlina Reynolds-Jackson commended the announcement that Mercer County will receive $786,353 through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA) for the Mercer County Reentry Program.

The award will help to ensure individuals released from the Mercer County Correction Center are provided with an assessment, services, and linkages to resources including social services, healthcare, and employment.

Assembly Democrats Anthony Verrelli and Verlina Reynolds-Jackson (D-Both Mercer, Hunterdon) issued the following joint statement:

“Reentry programs are vital to assisting incarcerated individuals and ensuring their transition back into the community is successful.  With this award, we will be able to give residents returning home access to the proper programs and services, including helping them find employment.  The nearly $800,000 will expand Mercer County’s reentry program and foster a positive impact on our communities.”
