Argentine Company Seeking to Skirt Passaic River Cleanup Share
Assembly Environment Chairman Tim Eustace (D-Bergen/Passaic) discusses Tuesday’s joint hearing between the Assembly and Senate environment committees on corporations avoiding their Superfund obligations in New Jersey through federal bankruptcy proceedings.
The Assembly committee advanced legislation (AR-219) sponsored by Eustace urging federal and state authorities to investigate actions taken by Argentina’s state-owned oil company, YPF S.A., to skirt its share of the $1.38 billion cleanup of the polluted Passaic River.
