Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson/Bergen) discusses Thursday’s Assembly vote supporting a challenge to Gov. Chris Christie’s effort to weaken gun safety. The bill (ACR-234) was approved 46-29 by the Assembly. It supports litigation to challenge the validity of Christie’s rule expanding justifiable need standard for issuing handgun carry permits.
