WAGNER HAILS PROGRESS ON NO. 7 LINE EXTENSION INTO NEW JERSEY

(PARAMUS) – Assemblywoman Connie Wagner (D-Bergen), of the Assembly transportation committee, released the following statement on the latest news regarding possible plans to extend the No. 7 subway train into New Jersey:

“This is positive news for Bergen County commuters, and I encourage everyone involved to keep working to make this project reality.
“We cannot create jobs and improve our economy without a strong transportation network, and this project is an opportunity to accomplish that worthy goal. It would also help ease congestion on our roads and the existing trains into New York. That can only be a good thing for area commuters.
“In the end, if this is a sensible and affordable plan, it should be pursued, and I will encourage those involved to even consider extending the line further past Secaucus so that more people can take advantage of the easier commute and economic development that would follow, if of course it’s fiscally responsible and area communities are supportive.”
