WATSON COLEMAN: ‘A NEW, UNCARING DIRECTION FOR NEW JERSEY’

Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman had the following published on the Times of Trenton:

“This is a sad time for New Jersey. For years, we as a state held dear to the notion that educating children, protecting senior citizens and helping the most vulnerable residents was a top priority. This was a shared value of both Democrats and Republicans. It was something we could all agree upon. We all knew it was the right thing to do. The new budget signed into law by Gov. Chris Christie changes all that.

It takes that legacy, stomps on it, tears it to pieces and tosses it into a garbage can. I heard my Republican colleagues in the General Assembly during the Monday-through-Tuesday budget debate call this a historic budget. They were right — it is a historically horrific budget balanced on the backs of the poor, disabled and middle class…”
